Bollywood superstar and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) co-owner, Shah Rukh Khan, took some time off his busy schedule to attend his team's first match at Eden Gardens in three years, along with his daughter Suhana Khan. The match was against Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), which ended up in KKR's favor with a massive 81-run win.

After the match, SRK met and hugged every player from both teams on the field. He also met Kohli, who asked him to teach him the famous "Jhoome Jo Pathaan" dance step, which SRK was happy to demonstrate.

Fresh from his unbeaten knock of 82 against Mumbai Indians, Kohli started off in style, scoring a boundary off the first ball of the innings against KKR's Umesh Yadav. However, he failed to carry the momentum and was dismissed for 21 by veteran Sunil Narine, who bowled an outstanding delivery to hit the timber.

It was KKR's first win of the season, thanks to Shardul Thakur's blistering 68-run knock and the spin trio of Varun Chakaravarthy, Suyash Sharma, and Narine. KKR made a fine recovery from 89 for five to post 204 for seven, with Shardul and opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz scoring half-centuries, while Rinku Singh contributed with a 33-ball 46. Shardul and Rinku shared a sensational 103-run stand, which revived KKR's innings and put them in a formidable position. Coming in at No. 7, Thakur hammered the joint-fastest fifty of the season off 20 balls.

In the second innings, leg-spinner Varun Chakravarthy (4/15) and young Suyash Sharma (3/30) did the maximum damage as KKR dismissed RCB for 123 in 17.4 overs, securing a convincing victory.
